Icing Smiles cake #1 in 2014 - Diva Princess cake

Yesterday, we delivered this diva princess-themed cake to a 7 year old girl named Lovina. She is a sibling of a young boy who is battling leukemia.

I am sharing here part of the email update I sent to Icing Smiles after my cake delivery, expressing how I felt about this latest "call-to-action":

"As usual, my heart was filled with joy because of the wonderful energy I felt in that house when we brought the cake.

A child's smile is priceless! 
At the very end of my visit, Lovina said thank you to me and she nodded with a big smile when I asked her if she was happy.  She seemed to be wanting to "hug" her cake too. :-) 
Thanks to Icing Smiles for giving siblings of sick children this kind of attention and love they so need/deserve.
I thank Icing Smiles for the opportunities given to Sugar Angels like myself - to be able to help and provide families of sick children a reason to "smile" in our own little ways."

Icing Smiles gives us Sugar Angels the opportunity to be a "blessing" to others.

Valentine Month

Recently, friends and family's events have been around themes that required red color schemes. Very appropriate for the Valentine month, right? I decided to make a collage of several projects that are "red"! :-) I hope you like it and let's enjoy the rest of the week! - Chichay

Chichay's Donation Drive for Haiyan

My husband and I decided to help the Philippines with what we could here on our end, so we had a week-long donation drive for Haiyan relief, encouraging friends and family to send over cash donations. 100% of the proceeds of the donation  drive were sent to Giving Children Hope in Buena Park, Ca (they send containers of relief goods and medical supplies to the Philippines through their counterparts), and to Dr. Bing Denolo-Chavez and family's donation drive for Capiz.

As "thank you" tokens to the donors, we let them choose a pack of pastries, and we delivered the free pastries to them this past week (see photos of some pastries here).

We would like to thank all of the participants to our donation drive, and we are hoping and praying that we all continue to help the people of the affected areas in the Philippines.

I heard someone say "let us make sending help a marathon, not a sprint...". I believe that they need more continuous help over there.

Another Icing Smiles Cake :-)

Here is another Icing Smiles cake I delivered recently - a magician-themed cake, for an 8-yr old leukemia patient namd Oscar!:) He is sharing this cake with his brother, Isaac, who is turning 6. 

The family requested for purple, black & white colors, and the flavor eas It was all chocolate fudge! It was so fun meeting Oscar and Isaac! They are happy kids! Thank you Icing Smiles again for this wonderful opportunity to share my skills and to make children "smile"!

We had so much fun during the Orange County Chocolate Festival! 

Our display table was visited by plenty of guests who admired our cakes, and inquired about our displayed products. It was nice to meet fellow chocoholics at the event!

Our demo was fun too, and we even had volunteers during the second part of the demo, where they decorated chocolate cupcakes with fondant!:-) 

Thanks to all the volunteers and to all of our friends who said hello to us at the event. Thanks to the organizers of the festival who invited us to demo and to Satin Ice for providing the delicious dark chocolate fondant for all the cakes, pastries and the demo cupcakes!:-)
